F1 "Fever" – Nico Rosberg

Our decision to dine in last evening was the right move. I had the chance to watch the “LIVE” coverage of the F1 race and I was glued to the TV for the 2 hours.

Prior to the race, I was clueless of F1, the only things I relate it to be Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari.

However my view changed after watching my 1st F1 race last night. It's more than just the above 2. It's a test of man's STRENGTH / WITS/ CAPABILITIES.

Looking at how the racers and his team of supports worked together, they drew my greatest admiration. It's man against clock.

Seeing some of the technical mishaps and crashes, it makes me realize how fragile a minute can become. Now I know why so many people become F1 fans.

The race result:

1. Fernando Alfonso – ING Renault
2. Nico Rosberg – Toyota
3. Lewis Hamilton – Mercedes – Benz

This morning in the office, the main topic of discussion was the F1 race. We (ladies) were going “hoo-wah-hah” over how handsome some of these racers are… : P
(Especially ICEMAN, he was so cool...)

Before lunch, one of the colleagues from Brand Management came by to our office to distribute notice that – NICO ROSBERG is coming to our office at 3.45pm for a Meet and Greet session. There will be an autograph session as well.

Our company is one of the official sponsors for his team, so the company managed to arrange for this rare opportunity.

So when it was about 3.30pm. My colleague from Brand Management came over to get some markers for him to do his autograph. We asked her “is he here, should we go to the showroom now?”

She said: “nope, stay in the office; he will be coming by the office.” At this point, we were so excited and can't contain our excitement.

Then suddenly he appeared along the corridor and walked in the direction of the Brand Office, which is just opposite our office.

He came in for a quick chat with the company CFO, then as he was leaving the office to go to the main showroom for the Meet & Greet session. WE caught hold of him for a quick photo shot.

I took him with my 2 colleagues – R & B. R is an overnight F1 fan and B's husband is a F1 fan. Both of them were so happy and guess what? We even printout the photo and got Nico autograph.

The excitement was so high and we were like those teenage girls chasing after their idols, except these are “aunties” chasing after F1 heartthrobs. ..haha.

Although it was only a short 30minutes session, we were truly won over by his boyish smile and cute look.

Think I am converting soon too!!!

三人行 的 第9个星期天 – 上集完结篇

This is the final Sunday that we are 3, comes next Sunday, 05 October, daddy will be home around 5 pm.

Time passes so fast and we really had so much new learning experienced for this 9 weeks when daddy is away. One thing for sure, I have gained enough confidence to be home alone with Anthea and Anders.

悠闲的一天

In the morning, we had pancakes for breakfast (again) and I managed to create more shapes pancakes. Yesterday when I was buying the chocolate sauce for the pancakes, I saw this set of cookies cutters and decided to buy a set... : )

After breakfast, we went to NTUC XTRA to stock up on grocery and at the same time I bought ingredients to cook soup. The children had 酿豆腐 noodles for lunch.

While they were having their lunch, I prepared the soup – 莲藕排骨汤。Usually I will cook the soup using the Thermos thermal pot that I bought. This means that while we take our afternoon nap, the soups are still cooking. So far, this is one of the good investments in our kitchenware.

钱不够用2

One of my colleagues has the DVD and she lent it to me. I liked the movies as it touches on topics closed to our heart and daily happenings. Most of the conversations are in hokkiens, so it's quite funny.

Dinner was simple takeaways – we had packet rice and fried 河粉. Of course a good bowl of home cooked soup. I prefer eating at home, especially with Anders. When we eat out with the families, he is always very distracted by people/things around. At home, it's much easier for him to finish his meal and less stressful for me.

F1 Night Race

Singapore is hosting the World 1st F1 Night Race. As I am tying this blog, I am also watching the race “LIVE” on TV5. I am not a F1 follower but watching the race does send a bit of adrenaline rush, especially from the racers view.

不知不觉三人行已经到了最后的星期天。好开心,下个星期天,爸爸就会回来了。这9个 星期,两个宝贝都非常配合,我衷心的谢谢他们。这上集的训练将会让我更有信心的去完成下集。

"CONNECTED"

Lately, I am hearing this from Anthea:

“I'm blind-folded on this roller coaster they call life.

Keep trying to make it through the next turn, knuckles white and holdin’ tight.
So here I go, takin’ a curve,But I know that I’m never alone.
I think of you, I know you’d never let me go.I feel connected, protected, it's like you’re sitting right with me all the time.
You hear me, you’re near me,And everything else’s gonna be alright.‘
Cause nothin’ can break this, nothin’ can break this, nothin’ can break this time.Connected…connected inside.”

This is none other than the theme song of Barbie Diamond Castle. The lyrics are so meaningful especially at this phase of our Aces Family life. Although Adrian is far away from us but he is still deeply “CONNECTED” with the rest of us at home.

In our daily life, we are doing simple things and yet these are the things that CONNECT us together.

# 1: Breakfast

Since Adrian is on away, our weekend's breakfasts are now all settled with simple breads and to make it interesting. I do shapes for the children. For the 1st time today, we had pancakes for breakfast. The feedback was mixed as usual. Anthea loves her pancakes but Anders still prefers his peanut butter bread.

I tried out the new Hello Kitty and Star shaped frying pans for the pancakes. They turned out good for a 1st timer.

# 2: Lunch

I had been trying my best to prepare lunch for them on weekends, especially Saturday, because of Anthea's Chinese lesson. I am glad so far that we are on time with our Saturday napping routine. Also during lunch time, I shared different discussion topics with the children.

#3: Joy ride/dinners
This evening, our dinner place was Tung Lok Signatures @ Central. So after Anthea's Chinese lesson, we took the MRT from Bishan to Clarke Quay Station. Anthea enjoyed the ride and I am glad that she is very used to the public transport.

Weekends dinners are always time for the children to connect with their grandparents, uncles, aunties and little cousin.

This evening, at the Central mall, there were chains of events happening in relations to F1 event. I believe STB is trying to create a street carnival atmosphere for the tourists.

We even had the chance to see Robin Goh performed and the children were his faithful audiences during his performance.

Another 1 week and Adrian will be home. Moral over there is now high and all of the men are looking forward to coming back to their lovely families as their CONNECTIONS are all here waiting for them.

“不务正业“

About a week ago, one of my very closed friends (J) from the travel industry called me. She asked me if I wanted to do some temp assignments for her. She knew that I was quitting my job.

She was my mentor when I joined the Travel Agency and she had been a very good leader. All these while we called her “大姐“。

She works in a travel agent that does MICE and so she had many events that required temp staff. The last temp job I assisted her was IMF and it was one of the major event.

As usual, I “itched” to do her assignment because I think there is a Travel BLOOD in me that just LOVE the Travel & Tourism industry. I believe if I am still single with no commitment, I would still be in the trade...hee : P

I took 2 days off from my “正业“to help her in her current project. The main task was to call the participants for the tradeshow to reconfirm their status. At the same time, I did data entry for her.

Her office is located in quite a “ULU Place” but her office setup is very nice. I especially like the pantry. It was so well equipped and they even have a dish washer. Can you imagine a dish washer in a COMPANY Pantry...haha.

Of course, besides getting what I enjoyed most, I am also paid for the assignment. These extra monies come in handy to reimburse my dental treatment which I went on Tuesday.

Recently, the TALK OF THE TOWN is the – MILK thing and Adrian was quite concerned if our family is affected. Thanks God, the children are drinking ABBOTT milk which are products of New Zealand. As for our diaries products, we are not so into all those yoghurt, flavored milk, biscuits, chocolates etcs. So I would think we are not so affected.

Sigh...it's such a terrible situation and we never know what will be recall next.

13

“Mommy, it's exactly 13 more days and daddy will be home.” Anthea told me while we were walking to childcare. She has been trained at counting down days, especially when we are going on family vacations.

Indeed, we are living in very high morale counting down to Daddy's homecoming. Although it will only be 2 weeks that he will be in Singapore, I know we are going to make full use of the time that we will have with him.

As for Adrian, work is hectic over his end – working like 16 hours a day but I guess when you are counting down to coming home, these long hours will be insignificant to the mind...haha.

Recently on
Singapore Motherhood forum, there was a Bulk purchase on some kitchens stuff. I saw 2 frying pans and thought that they will be useful in preparing some nice breakfast for the children.

Nowadays, for weekend's breakfast, both Anthea and Anders will ask for heart-shaped bread or elephant/pig bread. Then they will enjoy the “animals’ breads. So to add some more varieties to our shapes bread, I ordered a Heart-shape and Hello Kitty frying pans. However, instead of getting a heart shaped pan, I got a Star frying pan, well; I guess it should be fine with the children… : P

The 2 pans cost me $13.80. I am now considering another bulk purchase where there are some many Bentoing stuff...temptation is so great..haha.

My collection of the pans was at Yishun MRT this evening, so after collecting the pans, we took a walk in Northpoint. There was a John Little sale on Pillow/Bolster and I can't resist and ended buying 1 bolster for Adrian. His own bolster is already very OLD, so it's good chance to throw it away.

This weekend, I will wash daddy's mattress cover and prepared for his bed for him. Last Saturday, his blanket had been washed. Adrian always said “nothing beat his own bed/mattress at home.”

三人行 的 第8个星期天

The weather has been HOT these few days. I thought it would be good for the children to take a dip by the pool. So after a good breakfast, we went to the swimming pool.

It was a good call – both Anthea and Anders had an hour of fun water play, especially Anders is getting more daring in the small pool and he moved around without my guidance. Anthea, as usual, enjoyed her swim and play with her brother.

Lunch was simple home cooked dishes – potato soup, fried broccoli and steam golden pomfret. After lunch, they had their power nap.

On Friday, i read about OG Ads on the Kukeri Thermal Lunch Box and i told myself that i have to get one this weekend. It was selling at $19.90 for OG Card Member. I think it would be useful for next year... : )

So after their afternoon nap, we headed to town around 5.30pm. Dinner was at New York, New York in Centrepoint. We order a Pizza and Sphagetties to share. Anthea enjoyed the pizza and she had about 4 pieces with alot of CHEESE on them... : P

Then we walked over to OG @ Orchard Point and i bought 3 sets of the lunch boxes. Two of my colleagues have requested for me to help them to get it, if i am buying for myself.

It has been another relaxed and enjoyable day for us. We are counting down to 2 more weekends and Daddy's going to be home soon. : 0

This will be the last 2 weeks of work for Adrian and he mentioned in his email:
“Dearest, this will be THE week to watch. It is a mixture of everything you can think of. It will be a week of long working hours, it will be a week to put what we have learnt the past one and a half months to use and test our knowledge, it will be a week to test our physical endurance and see if we can take the long working hours and still remain fit and operational.
Dear, give me strength. Again, I LOVE YOU ALL!!”

From home:
Dear, I have strong BELIEVE in you that you will achieve much from the 2 months training and work experienced. STRENGTH is within your own self.
Remember: We will always be right here waiting for your successful return.
May he be filled with loving kindness.
May he be well.
May he be peaceful and at ease.
May he be happy.

KIDS-IN-CHARGE 2008

NTUC Childcare's Kids-in-charge 2005 was a resounding success and has become a regular event on their annual calendar.

This year, Kids-in-charge is held on Friday, 19 September 2008, from 5.30p.m. – 8.30p.m. and is entitled “Play @ Work.” The event will showcase how games can be fun while boosting growth across critical development areas.

Parents are invited to join in the program to witness the children's achievements in learning through this event.

Well, I always enjoy participating in this kind of event as I know it's another way of getting to know my children better and their progress in the childcare.

As the event is scheduled to start at 5.30pm, I decided to pack Macdonald's Happy Meals for Anthea and Anders. At least they have some food before the event or else dinner may run late.

After dinner, we went back to the childcare centre for the event. Both Anthea and Anders were very happy and looking forward to the event.

I joined Anders Nursery class games – he had the Chinese memory game and English Musical Bases. I saw him played the games with his friends and he was very really enjoying himself.

Then I proceeded to join Anthea's K2 games – they had Dodge Ball and Chinese Words games. Anthea was also having a very enjoyable time with her classmates.

At the end of the event, the childcare event gave us 3 “dinner bento”. It consisted of an egg sandwich, a sausage, a fishball, a chicken wing, a piece of cake and a packet of drink. We enjoyed our simple dinner bento at home. It was very thoughtful of them.

NTUC childcare always STRESSED the importance of Parental Involvement in the child learning. They emphasized that children achieve more when schools and parents work together and parents understand what the school is trying to achieve and how they can help.

Today I learn a lot from my children and as the name suggested: “KIDS IN CHARGE”... : )

“TALKS” of the Town

AIA

I guess by now everyone has already heard of the latest updates from AIA and MAS assuring the policies holders that they have enough FUNDS to weather the current storm. Honestly, I am very worried because our “EGGS” are all in ONE Basket. I am considering taking some of these out and put it into another basket.

I had asked Adrian for his opinion and he said will leave the decision to me. I know it's be a lost now to withdraw the policies but it's better than to wait for the worst scenario.

I do hope to get some lights for the situation before making the decision, by end of this week.

The Diamond Castle

Yesterday, one of my colleagues was sharing with me this news - Barbie is back in town and this time in The Diamond Castle. It is another musical starting Barbie and Teresa about the fairy tale story of Liana and Alexa. This is our annual collection item, so how can I not buy it for Anthea... : P

This evening while waiting for Anthea to finish her MPM Math class, I shop around the VCD shop and found the VCD. We bought the Barbie VCD and Anders also chose a Dora DVD. We had not bought any new VCD/DVD for a long time. Both anthea and Anders are in for a good treat.. : )

My PA Card

I have been contemplating to sign up for the PA Card from Community Centres. The membership fee is $10 for 3 years, so it is really affordable.

The main reason is the tuition centre which I intend to sign Anthea up when she starts Primary school next year give discount to PA member. Also with the PA Card, there are many privileges to enjoy. So why not...haha. (省省省,妈妈最行!!)

“I Love you, mommy”

Lately I have been hearing this sentence very often.

Almost every night without fail, Anders will say: “mommy, I love you”. Then follow by Anthea. Sometimes I will hear them say it even during day times when we are home on weekends.

When they say this sentence, they expect me to reply: “love you too, darling.” Otherwise I will be question, especially by Anders. He will ask “mommy, why you never say – love you darling?” : P

Last evening, he was a bit playful and didn't follow my instruction and I scolded him. He asked me “mommy, you love me? “ I replied him: “yes, mommy loves all my children.”

He asked: “mommy, if you love me, why you scold me?” I was totally caught off guard by his question and wanted to laugh. I controlled and explained to him: “if you listen to mommy, will I scold you?”

He said: “NO.”

I told him: “If you listen to mommy, mommy will not scold you. But when you are naughty, mommy will scold you. Do you understand?”

He said: “Yes, I love you mommy.”

How can I not fall in LOVE with my children...they are always the LIGHTS in my life.

Having reading Idy's blog on The Lifecycle of Talking pointers, I can't help but remind myself that I must always be Thankful that they are so willing to shower their LOVE on me. I must never take this cycle for granted and must appreciate the bonding I have with them.

三人行 的 第7个星期天

客人来
Today we had 2 special visitors from Adrian's office. They are Staff Ang and Madam Nala.
They were tasked by MINDEF to give home visit to those men who had been attached on oversea assignment for more than 2 months and Adrian is one of them.

The main purpose of the visit is to check on how is the family getting on since most of them are fairly young couples.

I had known Nala on the many company functions that I had attended with Adrian, so we chatted like old friends. She was happy and commented I am the only “Positive” person that she had visited so far. As a token of appreciation for our effort, the MINDEF had given us some NTUC vouchers.

The only sad new is Adrian 2nd trip leaving mid October will end likely before Chinese New Year 2009, so this mean daddy will not be in town for Christmas and New Year but it's ok since we don't really celebrate these occasions. As long as he's home for Lunar New Year for 团圆,this means more for our family.

弥月之喜
One of my mahjong kaki - Peter's wife recently delivered their 2nd baby. It's a Baby girl and her name is Eunice. Today Peter had a Full Month celebration at his home and we attended the occasion.

What a coincidence – in 2006 when Peter celebrated his son's Full Month, Adrian was on oversea attachment. In 2008, when he celebrates his daughter Full Month, Adrian is also on attachment. Wondering if 2010 will Peter have Baby No. 3...haha.

As usual, I had a good time catching up with the group while Anthea and Anders enjoyed themselves in the children play room. There were a lot of toys. I am really amazed.

After the lunch, we went home to rest till dinner.

中秋之夜 -“月到中秋分外明“.
We had dinner at my parent home. It was the delicious home cooked “海南鸡饭“and my mom did the rice balls. I haven't eaten these kinds of rice balls for a long, long time. I also bought a tube of “南同利” mooncakes for my parents. At my mom's place, I got to sample 李白mooncakes. I think this is the year I get to sample so many different mooncakes from different famous outlets and I am really lucky.

It was raining at dinner time, so I was thinking that we may not be able to make it to the park to carry lanterns. However, after dinner, the rain stop and since it was on our way home, I decided to bring the Anthea and Anders to the park for a quick walk around. The crowd was small and not as busy as last year. Anyway, the children had a bit of good fun. My PIL and 2nd BIL's family joined us for a after dinner walk

It's been another remarkable day for us to be able to meet up with friends and families on such a special day. In just 3 more weeks exactly, daddy will be home.

嫦娥与便当幻想

On Friday the childcare celebrated the Mooncake Festival and the children were advised to go in home clothes. At the same time to bring along a lantern. Both Anthea and Anders were very excited, especially Anthea as this was her 1st time playing the MAIN Actress for the performance.

When we reached the childcare, 罗老师 was at the main door and when she saw Anthea, she said: “哇,我的嫦娥穿的那麽美!” Anthea was very happy when she heard this and I can see the expression in her eyes and smile.
(Anthea and Anders wishing daddy : 中秋节快乐)

I didn't take leave to attend the performance but had requested for the photos. Hopefully the teacher got something nice on her.

This morning, I did some quick marketing to prepare a simple lunch for the children as I would need to settle them early for their afternoon nap. Luckily, they cooperated and slept around 1.30pm.

As usual, Anthea woke up around 3pm and Anders at 3.30pm. I was happy that we were on target. So after changing them, we made our way to Tien Hsia for Anthea's lesson. While Anthea was in her class, I brought Anders to the library to borrow books on Bentos. I have been following a few Blogging mommies who are preparing Bentos and each time when I see their bento, I drooled with envy.

For the present moment, I can only try bento-ing during weekends because for the weekdays, the children eat in childcare. So there is no PUSH factor for me to start yet.

Also seeing the amount of “investments” that these mommies had put into bento-ing, I am truly impressed but a bit hard for me to start my investment as I may be out of job soon...hee. (Must spend thriftily).

I am really fascinated with the book that I borrowed and begin to imagine that I can also do the same...haha. Just Imagination only.

After borrowing the books, we went to NTUC and I did some grocery shopping. Then we fetched Anthea from her class. My PIL picked us from the school and we had dinner together with my extended families.

My youngest brother in law recommended us to Stewhaus @ Cactus Road. We tried the Oxtail stew, Lamb shank stew and beef stew. The clear winner for the family is Oxtail stew. I ordered 2 kids meal for Anthea and Anders – spaghetti Bolognese and chicken chipolata. Both these dishes were good and Anders enjoyed the spaghetti.

My FIL bought new toys for both of them again and when we reached home, both of them were so eager to play with the toy.

A relaxed and enjoyable day for us. I am looking forward to our annual 提灯笼“at Bishan park tomorrow night.

LOST & “双黄红莲蓉月饼”

LOST

Yesterday I received a call from the National Library Board. The caller told me that my children library cards were FOUND at the Ang Mo Kio MRT Station. I was very shocked to hear of this as all the while, I had thought that the cards are safe in Anthea's wallet.

I tried to recap when did this could have happen...then it strike me that she could have dropped them on our way out to Suntec City on Sunday.

Anthea kept showing me her old library card and asked me how come I have not thrown it away. I told her I would do it at home. I reckoned that she may have dropped the 2 cards when she took out her old card. I guessed I was too busy watching out for Anders to take note of the cards that was “LOST”.

So I told the caller that I would pick up the cards after work. A lesson learnt and now I put both library cards in another wallet. I will bring this wallet only when we go to the library. We are lucky the person who picked up the cards decided to give them to the Passenger Service counter; otherwise, I will need to pay a penalty for lost cards.

双黄红莲蓉月饼”

Last Saturday, during our family dinner at Intercontinental Hotel , while sampling the snow skin mooncakes. Both my 2nd sister in law and youngest brother in law commented that how come we did not eat the traditional baked skin mooncakes as this is the REAL THINGS. I bought the traditional mooncakes for my parents and thought my extended families whom are more westernised would prefer the snow skin one...but i guess i was wrong on this thought... : P

Luckily, today Intercontinental Hotel came to our office premise to sell the Man Fu Yuan mooncakes at a 30% discount. So how can I miss this GOLDEN OPPOORTUNITY...hehe.

Especially this would be my last chance to buy mooncakes at such discounted price. I bought a box of 2 pieces Lotus Seed Paste with Double Yolk. I remembered my Sister in law love double yolk and since this is only eaten once a year, so we will not be too guilty about putting on the extra calories..right..hee : P

Like I say, it is always a joy when you buy things for people whom are closer to your heart. Hope they will enjoy the mooncakes this weekend.

Changes - For the Better !!

In life, changes are inevitable. I am a firm believer of POSITIVENESS in changes, like I have been telling Adrian on our daily exchanges of emails. I know that he is going through some hardship in his training but I know this hardship will bring out a better man in him. This will also be valuable to our family.

These few weeks, we are experiencing a lot of changes that will affect our lifestyle, positively I Believe...: )

CHANGE 1: Lift upgrading programme.

It is confirmed that the constituency had gained the 75% of the eligible votes and the project will go ahead. The project will start in the 2nd quarter of 2009 and complete by 2nd quarter of 2011. This letter is signed by none other than PM Lee Hsien Loong himself.

CHANGE 2: Increase in INFANT /Childcare subsidy with effect from 17 August 2008.
During his National Day Rally, PM Lee had mentioned that the Govt will be enhancing some of childcare subsidy to make the fees more affordable for parents. The old subsidy for working mom is $150, the new subsidy is $300. This is indeed a piece of good news for our family.

Currently the Full Day Childcare fees for each child is $500 and less the new subsidy of $300. It means that we are paying about $200 for each child. It's a lot of financial saving for us, especially comes next year when I becomes a PTSAHM.

CHANGE 3: Anthea new class in 天下

Since she came home from her 1st lesson with Teacher Lin Lin, she is full of praises of Lin Lin. She kept saying she is looking forward to her next lesson. Also last Saturday, my MIL bought her 2 enrichment workbooks for K2. She did the Chinese book with great interest. I am very happy to see her great appreciation of Chinese and enjoying the worksheet. I hope she will love the language as much as i do.

CHANGE 4: My plan to get a Part Time job.

So far, I have been writing in to companies who advertised for the positions but still not shortlisted yet. How do I feel – well, a bit disappointed at times but deep in my heart I know. What's not meant to be mine will not be. So I am still waiting for the right opportunity. If it does not comes true, I will just have to be contended to be a FTSAHM for the time being.

This evening after dinner, we went to the central and bought a Pomelo for the childcare centre Friday Celebration. The K2 children will be performing the story of "常娥登月" and Anthea has been "shortlisted" to be 常娥 and she is very excited about the performance. Guess what - she told me she wants to wear her Hello Kitty Dress for the performance... : P

Looking forward to 八月十五- 月圆花好之夜 !!

三人行的第6个星期天

New Haircut

Both Anthea and Anders hair have grown long and I had wanted to bring them for a haircut. So this morning, I brought them to the hairdresser and barber respectively.

Luckily there was a ladies salon and man salon next to each other at our market place. So after the hairstylist started on Anthea's hair, I brought Anders to the traditional barber shop to do a crew cut for him. While both were having their haircuts, I was juggling between the 2 shops to make sure both are ok...haha.

I was very satisfied with the new haircut that both of them had and each cost only $6. Total of $12.

We had our usual afternoon nap after a simple meal of yong tau foo noodle soup.

Dinner & Window Shopping @ Suntec City

The other day I bought a pair of NIKE shoes for Anthea and when she tried them out, I realized that they were a bit small for her. So I decided that we will go and exchange it for a bigger pair this evening.

We left home around 5.15pm and took the MRT to City Hall Station. With the 2 children in tow, I prefer to go by public transport as it is less “stressful” for me...haha.

We reached Suntec City Shopping mall around 6pm. Both of them kept saying they were hungry so we had our dinner first.

Anthea ordered her favorite Subway Ham & Cheese 6 Inch sandwich. Then we ate in the food court. Anders had his roti prata. I ordered a 盅仔饭with 西洋菜汤. Both Anthea and Anders shared the soup as this is one of their favorite soups. Anders also ate some of the rice. It was a simple meal with my 2 kids, yet I enjoyed it so much, especially when I see Anthea feed Anders. (Ahem...they were actually role playing a Zoo Keeper feeding a crocodile.. : P )

We went to Nike Shop after our dinner and managed to change for a pair of bigger shoes for her. Then we went to Carrefour and did some window shopping.

The children had wanted to buy some toys but I told them NO because there is no reason to buy toys. I don't want them to make a habit to buy toys as and when they see one.

On our way to the MRT Station, we managed to try a WII game at one of those electronic shops. It was quite fun and thrilling, no wonder so many people are addicted to it.

又是一个快乐星期天,我们到数爸爸 回国的日子也越来越近了。三人行的日子也越来越得心应手。亲爱的。。我会好好加油的!

天下与冰淇淋之约

Today is Anthea 1st lesson for Term 4 at 天下 and her lesson is in the late afternoon from 4.30pm. My plan was for the Anthea and Anders to have early nap, so that they can wake up in time for Anthea's lesson.

My MIL had called me in the morning to mention that she is available to provide me with logistic support as she was not babysitting my niece. I was quite great to get her help as it's was anthea 1st lesson with a new class/teacher 粼琳, she had requested that I sit in with her at the class. I planned to let Anders stay with my MIL while I attended the lesson with Anthea.

For lunch, I prepared the sweet corn with carrot soup. I also managed to fried Thai Pineapple rice. The feedback for the rice was mixed – anthea don't like it and Anders finished his bowl...hehe.

Both of them took their nap around 1.30pm. Anthea woke up around 3pm and Anders was up by 3.30pm. Overall, the timing was just nice. Anders stayed with my MIL while I brought Anthea to her lesson.

Anthea enjoyed her lesson and she likes粼琳老师 very much and kept saying “mommy, I like 粼琳老师,she is better that 云芳老师. : P Actually the administrator did mention to me that Lin Lin is a very good teacher and I should not worry too much of the change... : )

Dinner was with the extended families at 满福园@ Intercontinental hotel. I brought along the mini snow skin mooncakes for the families to sample.

We finished dinner by 9pm and both Anthea and Anders was still not too keen to go home as they kept asking me “go where?” So when my youngest BIL mentioned that he was going to collect his golf set from his friend, I told him we will joined him for a car ride.

Along the way, Terence mentioned that his friend was not home yet and decided to adjourn to Geláre for Ice cream. Both Anthea and Anders were most happy and readily agreed to go for ice cream.

It was raining and yet the ice cream place was packed with people. Terence said this is a happening place during weekends.

Both Anthea and Anders had a great time sharing the waffle ice-cream with Terence and Cherry. Cherry will be leaving tomorrow to London for a 5 weeks work assignment and then continue with 2 weeks honeymoon in Europe when Terence meet up with her. I know the children are going to miss her a lot.

My 1st 重庆火锅 & Mama Mia

Today I took ½ day leave for MY OWNSELF.

I had lunch appointment with my long time good friends cum Mahjong kakis (Madeline,LG, Linda and Warren). Our lunch venue was Chong Qing Hot Pot @Suntec Shopping mall. This is my 1st time trying Chong Qing hotpot and I must say the 鸳鸯锅 was a “killer” especially the “麻辣”. LG even joked with us if we wanted to “加辣“,luckily we didn't take his advice. It was an ala carte buffet steamboat, so we just ordered and eat and eat. I really had a good time at lunch.

Usually my meals are always with the children and they tend to distract me a lot especially Anders. So today, I eat with my whole heart and stomach, of course. It was a relaxing and enjoyable lunch and it's been such a long time since I had this kind of experience.

We chatted as we ate our lunch and catches up with each other happenings. I had known this group of friends since my SDS (social development service) days and I am really glad that our friendship lasted so long. Even though some of us are married with families, we still make an effort to meet as and when we can. Most importantly, the STRONG BOND that we had developed during our Mahjong Days just seem to be unbreakable...haha.

We headed for some shopping at Nike Bird shop after a good lunch. I bought for myself a shoe bag and a pair of Nike shoes for Anthea. This is her 1st pair of branded shoes. (Thanks’ god we had good discount from the price tag.) I didn't buy for Anders as can't get anything nice, will shop again when i meet up with Mag.

After shopping, the rest of them headed to Mag house for Mahjong. I drooled with envy but too bad, I can't join them... : P

Last night, I read from Lifestyle magazine that Mama Mia the Movie will be in cinemas on 18 September. I am very excited and likewise, I plan to apply ½ day leave to watch this movie. I had seen this musical 2 times (once in London & once in Singapore). I am totally IN LOVE with the Muscial simply because– I am an ABBA FAN... : )

How can I miss the movie even though the review is not so good, WHO CARES!! As long as i get to listen to all my favorite Songs...haha.

Just wondering if there are any ABBA FANS around ??

中秋月饼的魅力

The mooncake festival is about 2 weeks away. The company, as usual, had invited a few famous hotels to come to the office premise to sell the mooncakes to the staff.

They are from Raffles hotel, Tung Lok group, Fairmont Singapore, Kia Hiang and Park hotel Singapore. Most of the hotels are giving 25% discount for their mooncakes. Needless to say, we had to make good use of this offer.

With a few other colleagues, we strategized our purchase for Raffles Hotel. We wanted to buy those mini snow-skin mooncake with different flavors – Champagne Truffle & Ganache, Mocha Truffle, Dark Chocolate Crunchy and Orange and walnut. Each box has 8 pieces so we bought 4 boxes of each flavors and mixed them to share. This means we will have 2 of each in 1 box. Clever right...haha.

Then I bought a box of baked mooncake with Pine Nuts, Macadamia Nuts and White Lotus paste for my parents. Last year, I bought this for my mom and she said that they were nice.

At the same time, I shared a box of 4 pieces white lotus with single yolk from Park Hotel Orchard. One of my colleagues took 2 pieces and I had 2. The childcare will be celebrating this festival in school on 12 September and K2 children need to bring 1 Pomelo and nursery to bring 1 mooncake. So I will let Anders bring one of the mooncakes and the remaining one will be for Daddy.

I have checked with the sale person and he mentioned that the baked mooncake can be kept for a month... : P

Just one day and I bought so many mooncake but it's really a joy because you know all these are for the Love Ones to enjoy. 这就是月饼的魅力 !!
