Her 1st Enrichment Class – MPM Math

As parents, we had been slacking in sending our children to enrichment classes, I think it's because we are plain LAZY…hee. Jokes aside, honestly, I have been looking around for enrichment classes and proposed them to Anthea. She always says “NO”. I believe the reason why she said No is because she is worried about getting scolded by the teacher.

Recently, I discussed with Adrian that we really need to consider seriously for her to start some lesson. This is mainly to prepare her for Primary School as she will likely has tuition classes when she starts school. The other reason is simply - she is too restless at home and watching too much TV programs.

I did some research on Mathematics enrichment class and shortlisted 2 schools that are near to our house – Kumon & MPM Math. From the Forum, I had gathered some feedbacks on Kumon and decided against enrolling Anthea for the class.
For MPM Math, one of my colleagues had enrolled her daughter for the course and listening to her feedback and looking at the workbook, I was quite impressed. So I brought Anthea to the Ang Mo Kio Centre and did a “game” as what the consultant mentioned. She did it and enjoyed the “game”. After that, I signed her up for the course.

Last Thursday was her 1st lesson. There is a Teacher Irene in the centre which Anthea had good impression of, so luckily on Thursday, she was around and guided Anthea through the lesson. The reason why Anthea had an impression of her was because she is PRETTY and very approachable.

Today morning when she woke up, she told me: “mommy, I am very excited about the lesson today and I am going to see teacher Irene.” I am really glad to hear these words from her. I brought her to the centre for her lesson and told her that I will not be inside waiting for her. Once she’s done, she can call me and I will fetch her. She said: “ok, mommy, you can take a walk in AMK HUB.” Such a sweet thought.

I did some errands around the centre and when she was done almost 30 minutes later. She called me and I picked her up from the centre. As usual, I asked her how her lesson was. She was very happy and told me that she enjoyed her lesson and teacher Irene gave her a sticker for a Well-Done lesson. Then she said she had homework and wanted to do it soon. After her afternoon nap, she woke up and did her homework.

This is definitely an improvement on her routine on just watching TV programs and doing nothing. She is very motivated and told me “Mommy, I want to learn drawings…” : )

Mommy's boy..

Anders is always full of surprises... sometimes they make me happy, sometime they make me angry. Like what Adrian always say, children come in packages. They can make the parents – Happy, proud, angry, sad, and many emotional roller coaster.

Since Siti, our domestic helper, returned home, I have been the main care person to him. Beside the times that he spends in childcare, the rest of the time at home, he will be with me.

He never failed to amaze me with his thought and speech. He will always ask me: “mommy, do you Love me? “Each and every day. Sometimes when I scold him because of his misbehavior, he will say: “mommy don’t love me.” It’s it his strategy to ensure that I give him 100% attention and love.

Usually on Fridays, we will dine out and let the children decided on what they would like to eat. Anthea love to go to the Japanese restaurant in AMK HUB, while I prefer something simple, like porridge.

Anders will usually make arrangement as such: “anthea jie jie, you go and eat Japanese with Papa; I go market and eat porridge with mommy…” So sweet of him to consider the best for all parties.

Many times I noticed whenever arrangement he made, he will always be with me and Anthea will end up with Adrian. I wonder next time when he go Army, will be need to pack me along.

Anders is quite street smart and fearless, unlike Anthea, who is a bit timid.. At home, when Anthea want to go to the toilet at night, she will ask me to accompany her as she is afraid of darkness. I will ask Anders to accompany her which he does without any concerns. When we go shopping around toy section, he will sometimes “disappear” among them and we will usually find him among the Transformers toys

The only thing that I hope he will outgrow fast is his crying habit. He tends to tears easily when he does not get his way and this gets on everyone nerves, especially me…so I do pray hard that when Adrian is on his oversea attachment, Anders can be a more sensible boy and less of a crying baby.

Family Day Event – Hippo ride & Eat with your Family

24 May 2008 , Saturday - Hippo Ride Day:

In the morning, Anthea and Anders woke up early to watch their favorite - Dora the Explorer and Diego show.

I woke up around 8 am to prepare breakfast as Anthea had requested for Ham and scrambled eggs burgers. We had a good and hearty homemade American breakfast.

Then we started to get ready to make our way to the Flyer as this is the boarding point for our Hippo ride. As usual, we took the MRT from AMK to City Station. Both Anthea and Anders enjoyed MRT rides and I also tried to let them go on Public transport as often as possible. This is to let them know that we can never take things for granted in life and going by public transport allows them to learn the reality of life.

We reached City Hall station around 11 am and started walking via the City Link mall towards Marina Square. As it was also the start of GSS (Great Singapore Sales), all the retail shops along the mall were displaying the SALE signage and I was literally “drooling” as I passed those shops...hee : P

Adrian asked if I wanted to shop since we were early, I said No as I planned to have an early lunch for the children.

We reached Marina Square and at the central atrium, there were children sale items. Anthea managed to get herself a pair of slippers. Anders was looking around for a pair too but can’t get what he wanted. We went to the Marina Loft food court for a quick lunch before meeting up with my In Laws and my BILs’ family.

As we had extra tickets and it was meant to be a family day event, who else can we have invited for the ride?

We met up with my extended families at the Popeye Restaurant where they had their lunch.

Then we headed to the boarding area for the Hippo ride. Guess what - we were family of 6 adults, 2 children and 1 infant and we managed to all go onboard…hehe.

We played “Tourists” for the 30 minutes. It was a good experienced for our family. (The only minus point of this ride is that the 2nd level of the bus is open, so the seats were quite hot. Luckily the 1st level was air con, so my little niece still can enjoy the ride in cool comfort, I hope...hee.

Did you know:

- The new parliament and old parliament house locations?
- What is the record time of the winner who claimed the Swissotel Stamford Hotel?
- The Feng Shui story of Suntec City?
- The history of Beach Road?
- How many floors are there at the National Library, which floor can borrow books?

If your answers are No to some of the questions…may I encourage you to try the HIPPO Ride...haha.

After the 30 minutes ride, we were directed to another area to pick up our goodies bag. The children were treated to small cup of Swenson ice cream too. It was indeed a fun-packed family event for our family.

On the way home, we went to shop at Kiddy Palace @ Marine Square and Anders managed to get a pair of shoes for himself.

When we reached home, the children had their power nap before meeting our extended families for dinner at Pete’s Place @ Hyatt hotel. It was my first time dinning at this Italian restaurant. The good deal of this place is they provide free flow of breads...so it was quite a good treat for us.

25 May 2008, Sunday, Eating With Your Family:

“Lunch 2day”…was the 1st sms I received from my da ge, early this Sunday morning. Well, of course ON , how to resist it. So we had lunch at Sichuan Doufu restaurant at the UOB Plaza with my parents and my Dage.

It was a sumptuous lunch and we had a good time catching up with updates of one another.

After a good meal, we took a walk around Raffles Place…I misses the CBD (central business district) at times, especially with all the new shopping and gyms around this area… : P

Dinner was with my in laws and BIL’s family and we had it at Crystal Jade Kitchen. Dessert was home cooked bird nest soup, courtesy from my parents.

Quality family time is really precious especially everyone is so busy with their own family each and every day. I always enjoy and treasure these time with my families and extended families.

The “Heats” is on.

1st Heat - The Heat wave has made a comeback this week and the weather has been “killing” for the last few days. At nights, before sleeping, we would on the room air conditioner to cool the room. Both Anthea and Anders are enjoying the air con very much. The reason is in our house, we seldom turned on the air con, unless necessary.

2nd Heat – on Vesak day morning at breakfast table, Adrian mentioned to me about his work trips. In the 2nd half of 2008, he will be going oversea for his work detachments. There will be 2 trips – early August to end September, then mid October to end December. He adds on “next year Chinese New Year”, he may be going for another work detachment.

OMG!!...hmm...sounds like I am going to be a “single mom” for a long, long time. I have some concerns, especially when Anthea starts her Primary school next year. So I told Adrian that I would use his 1st trip to make a gauge of how I am going to handle all the arrangement single-handedly. I know it’s not going to be easy but I need to try it out. We also discussed on alternative helps options, if I am really over-exhausted.

3rd Heat – DOGS!!!!

Either you love them or you hate them. I belong to the latter. I don’t hate it but I will stay away from them, as far as possible.

There is this lady who walks her 2 dogs every morning around the neighborhood. On our way to the childcare, we will always see her with her 2 dogs. I have no problem with her walking her dogs. Only thing is she does not leash them. She holds the leash in her hands and the 2 dogs run freely.

Once, I saw 2 young boys walking with their grandmother and when the 2 boys saw the dogs, they started running away, guess they were frightened of the dogs too. Another time, I was walking along the void deck of the childcare and coming out to the open area, one of the dogs suddenly dashed across me. I got such a scare that I scream. The old lady apologized to me and kept reproaching the dog – “don’t anyhow run.” Thanks god my heart is strong, otherwise I may get a heart attacks.

I really hope that these people have the courtesy to leash up while walking their dogs and not caused any inconvenienced to the general public.

Ps: I can see a lot of dog’s pool along the walkway. Sometimes I wonder….sigh!!

Final Heat – Primary One registration – Coming REAL SOON!!! .

Vesak Day Special - We've WON Free Tickets!

Last Saturday, after my facial session, I saw a few miss calls from an unfamiliar number. I called back to check –" hi, this is astee, may I know who called me?” The person on the receiver mentioned: “this is NTUC Media, may I know your name again.”

Then after some probing and questionings, it was confirmed that I had won 7 tickets for a ride on either the Singapore Flyer, Ducktours, Hippotours or Rhinotours.
How did this happens? Well, 2 weeks ago, one of my colleagues had referred me to a Family Day Out, 24 May 2008 link: http://www.nationalfamilycelebrations.sg/ and there was a contest to win these FREE Tickets. Needless to say, I just key in my details and submitted my entry. Then I totally had forgotten about it because I have never been lucky in this kind of contest before.

I think Lady Lucks is shinning on us over this Vesak weekends and she would like us to spend Quality Family together before Adrian goes on his works detachments. Usually we would not spend this kind on monies on these rides as they cost a Bomb for our family of 4. Now we have not excuses to MISS it... : P

This morning I went to the designated location – AMK HUB (The Platinum Lounge on Level 3) to collect the letter for the FREE Ride. We had been allocated the HIPPO Ride Tour for this coming Saturday, 24 May, 1.00 pm – 1.30 pm. I was hoping to go on the Ducktours but seem like all the tours had been pre-arranged and we can't chose. Well, since it's FREE, we just need to be there to enjoy the event.

I know Anthea and Anders will definitely enjoying the ride and the family time out.

ps: I shall now go and ballot for the National Day Parade 2008 Tickets..hee !!

Anthea 1st Dental Appointment & EZ Link Card

I have been putting off Anthea's dental visit for a long, long time. Simply because I do not want her to be frighten off by the dentist and have phobia of going to the dentist for the rest of her life, like me. Recently, I noticed that her teeth’s has been dropping out and the new ones are growing. So I would like to bring her for a dental checkup.

I had a recommendation from a friend's to bring her to Dr. Ben Lim from Hosana Dental. His schedule is very packed and I had to make the appointment almost 2 months advance and her 1st appointment to the dentist was confirmed on 17 May at 1pm.

I brought Anthea for an early lunch at Macdonald before visiting the dentist. Adrian was home with Anders. We reached the dentist around 12.30pm and the nurse informed us that the appointment would be later, around 1.10pm. I was a bit concerned of this as our (or rather mine) schedule for the rest of the day is quite tight - all back to back. So I decided to postpone the appointment.

On our way back via MRT, I noticed that there were a few other Dental Clinics nearby the MRT Station. We went in to make enquiries; one of them had an available slot for a consultation. So I asked Althea if she want to go ahead or wait for the other clinic. She said OK. We registered her name and immediately, the dentist was available to see her.

I was a bit hesitant as I am not sure how the dentist is and worried if she can handled children. Lady Luck must be on our side - Dr Shally Tan was very soft spoken and she kept talking to Anthea while checking her teeth. She also explained to Anthea that there was a decay tooth and she need to fill it up. She showed Anthea of all the equipment that she will be using to do the filling. Throughout the whole process, Anthea was listening to the dentist explanation and she was quite comfortable, although I can sense a bit of fear initially when the process started. The dentist was very reassuring and kept telling her that she was a very Brave Girl and is doing very well.

It took less than 20 minutes and the filling was done and her teeth were checked. I was really glad and proud of Anthea. This was her 1st visit to the dentist and she had really done very well. She even told me: "mommy, it had been a fun day at braddle."

On our way home, we went to the MRT ticket office. I decided to buy Anthea 1st Child EZ link card for her. Anthea has been telling me that her teacher has been telling them to prepare for an EZ link card as there seem to be some plan of going around the neighborhood by bus. So I thought it would be good to get her one, just in case. Also we tend to take Bus/MRT quite often, so she can also use it when needed so.

She was very happy to see her EZ Link card and kept is safe in her wallet. I told her that she must not lose it; otherwise, it will be very troublesome.

In the late afternoon, I had my own appointment - facial and massage. There was a new saloon in the central and I went by it on a weekday with a colleague of mine. She went there to collect some free products as her mom is a member. So I took their trial facial & massage. The facial was good because it had been a long time since I had one. The beautician had a "good time" doing major overhaul on my face. I enjoyed the facial session as the beautician had very good skills. The massage session was passable but I still prefer St.Gregory massage...hee : ) It was a very good 4 hours spent and i felt good after that.

In the evening, as Adrian had his company dinner, I decided to eat with the children at the AMK Hub. We shopped around the mall after dinner.

It was an action packed day for us and we had managed to complete all the tasks with some good family planning.

No more Spoon Feeding

It has been a busy week at work as our department is scheduled to do our email migration from Lotus Notes to Microsoft Outlook this week. There are a lot of things to re-learn again. My ex-company used Outlook and since I joined my present company, I lost touch with it for almost 4 years and now it’s back to Outlook again. What a reunion… hee: )

Since this week at home, I have also started on a new routine. Previously I would fetch the children home – heat up the tingkat dinner – feed Anders his dinner. Anthea will eat her own dinner. While eating their dinner, they will watch some program on Disney channel. Sometimes, I can feel quite frustrated as Anders will lose concentration on his meals. Sometimes, both of them will quarrel over what show they want to see.

Adrian was home once when he witnessed this verbal exchange among the children. In his anger, he told them to switch off the TV and focused on eating their dinners. When they were finished with the meals, then they can watch the TV program.

I think this made me re-think about spoon feeding Anders. I believe he should be able to eat his own meals, just like in school. The reason for feeding him is because I wanted him to finish his meals fast, so I can do the rest of my chores faster. I guess my approached to this is wrong.

Starting this week, I changed the routine. After fetching the children – heating up dinner – preparing the food for them to eat – then I will wash their clothing.

So far, both Anthea and Anders had been very co-operative. They will sit at the dinner table and eat their dinner while I washed their clothes. Anders has not been asking me to feed him; he will eat his dinner on his own. After dinner, then they will start to watch the TV programs or play with their toys/games.

So far, this new routine is working to my advantages – I get to finish my chores earlier/faster and get more times to spend with the children. These few nights, I even had time to go online and do some installation for a laptop that Adrian will be using for his oversea attachment.

Well, I guess at different stages, we learn a different approach to our family lifestyle management. I believe the 2nd half of 2008 will be a bigger challenge for me.

TT & CC Beautiful Wedding

We woke up to a nice & cool Saturday morning, got ourselves ready to go over to my In-laws house. The wedding couples were scheduled to arrive at 9.30 – 9.45 am.

We reached my In-laws place around 9 am and helps out around. One by one the relatives started to arrive. The buffet caterer was very prompt and the set up was ready by the time we arrived.

At 9.30 am, the main coordinator arrived and told us that the Groom and Bride had arrived and we were all supposed to “hide” away. This is a tradition that has been practiced. This is to avoid “clashes” with the Bride/Groom. The couples went straight in to their matrimonial room, once they are inside, all of us started coming out of our “hiding places”.

Anthea was tasked to serve the wedding couples a bowl of 汤圆 each. I believe this is to symbolize their marriage as “圆满”. Then after that the tea ceremony started. Traditionally, it used to be served in ranking orders. But nowadays, things are simplified to 1st come 1st served...hee : P

So after my in-laws drank their “媳妇茶”, then followed by the seniors ranking relatives, then it was our turn. TT & CC had to address us as “阿伯/伯母”; I believe this is to follow how their children will address us the next time. So I got promoted once again.

After the tea ceremony, it was time for the children to jump/roll on the matrimonial bed – symbolize “早生贵子”. One of our aunties even guided us to let Anders jump 1st before the 2 girls – Anthea and Faith joined in.

Then Cherry changed to her tea dress and the couples return to Bride’s home for their tea ceremony.

We had a quick lunch and went back home to let the children had their power nap around 1 pm.

Around 3pm, I brought Anthea to my usual Make-up artist to do our make-up and hair. Initially I had planned to ask my SIL aka Eve to do Anthea’s make-up, since we were at the salon to do her hair, I thought might as well do her make-up. Glad that I made this decision because at the hotel, Anthea needed to do the walk in rehearsal with the Live Band singing. So time was quite tight for her. Also I had to go & pack MacDonald Happy meals for the children to have some light bites before the dinner.

The moment of truth started around 8.15 pm when the Emcee announced the grand entrance of the Bride and her father. Anthea was the Flower Girl and when the ballroom door opened, the light was focused on the main door and she was standing there with the flower petals. Then she started walking in to the tune of “Butterfly Kisses” sang by the Band. Then Cherry and her dad walk in. It was a Lovely and Beautiful moment for the Bride, her dad and Groom.

I am also very proud of my little princess as she did her task very well, much to the satisfaction of the wedding couples. (she got BIG ang pows from Uncle Terence & Aunty Cherry for job well done. My MIL also rewarded her with an ang pow.)

The wedding walk in song is very touching and lyrics are very meaningful:

She'll change her name today.
She'll make a promise and I'll give her away.
Standing in the bride-room just staring at her.
She asked me what I'm thinking and I said "I'm notsure-I just feel like
I'm losing my baby girl."
She leaned over...gave me butterfly kisses with her mama there,
Sticking little white flowers all up in her hair

"Walk my down the aisle, Daddy-it's just about time."
"Does my wedding gown look pretty, Daddy? Daddy, don't cry!"
Oh, with all that I've done wrong I must havedone something right.
To deserve your love every morning and butterflykisses-
I couldn't ask God for more, man this is what love is.
I know I gotta let her go, but I'll always rememberevery hug in the morning and butterfly kisses. “

The solemnization began and it took about 15 minutes and the JP pronounced them as husband and wife. The ceremony ended with the JP wishing everyone good health.

Dinner commenced and we were all treated to a 9 course sumptuous food. During the dinner, Adrian had the chance to catch up with all the relatives. Food was good and service was excellent too. We had an enjoyable evening, also viewing the few montages that Terence and Cherry had specially prepared - thanking the parents and the family.
The whole event has been very well coordinated and I think Terence and Cherry has put in great effort to make this their very SPECIAL DAY. I know they will remember it for a long, long time.

Aces family wishes them a very Blissful Marriage and welcome Cherry to the Tan Family.

Dearest Terence & Cherry,

祝:你们百年好和, 永浴爱河!!

IPPT - GOLD!

This blog is for my Dear Hubby.

On Tuesday, 06 May 2008, Adrian was due for his IPPT. All these while, he had been training for it in his gym session.

On the morning, I received a sms from him, “after gym training, IPPT seem to be for kids. I got GOLD. “

I was very happy to receive this message from him; his hard work and effort are all well rewarded.

At dinner time, he told me he scored full points for all his stations and for his 2.4KM run, he clocked 9.56 sec.

However, after his run, he vomited…oops…the medic brought him to the medical centre to rest. After drinking and resting for a while, he recovered.

He said for one of the station – Chin up. To get full point, he needed to pull 7 times, he did 10 times. The officer in charge asked him: “why you pull so many?”...hee.

Before the test, I told him before: “厉害就好,不要假厉害.”...ha-ha.

Anyway, he was very happy and proud of his achievement, after 14 years, this is his 1st IPPT GOLD.

< Final Leg> Rehearsal for the Wedding Day

4 more days to go and it will be my youngest brother in law – Terence and his wife to be – Cherry Wedding Day.

We are all very excited as we are into the final leg of the week. Yesterday, Terence and Cherry arranged with the hotel to have a march in rehearsal for the actual day.

Terence had requested for Anthea to be there for the rehearsal which I agreed to. Being a “花妈” for the 1st time, I am also excited and want to ensure that Anthea can accomplish her task. So I took ½ day off to meet them at the hotel to preview the rehearsal.

My Mil is on leave and Adrian also claimed his off day for logistic support. In the afternoon, they went to the hotel to have buffet lunch as my MIL has lunch vouchers. After work, I met them at Plaza Singapore as Terence and Cherry needed to get the stuff for the flower basket. We went Spotlight and Daiso to shop for the DIY stuff. Luckily, we can find all the material required.

We went back to the hotel at 3pm to meet with the Banquet Manager. She brought us to the Ballroom and gave us an introduction to the layout. Then after that, the rehearsal for the march in started. Cherry’s father was there too as Cherry wanted her dad to walk her down the aisle before handling her off to Terence.

As a flower girl, Anthea responsibility was to walk in before the bride and her dad. She will also scatter rose’s petals as she walk down the aisle. So during the rehearsal, we need to pace Anthea steps so that she is within the timing of the music. After rehearsing for a few times, she managed to grasp the steps and petals throwing and it went quite well. Both Terence and Cherry were satisfied with her performance..Phew!! What a relief it was to me.

My 2nd BIL and his wife – Louis & Eve also came by to the hotel to give their moral support. Like I say, it is a BIG Family affair… :)

In the evening, we met up for dinner with the extended families for Clay pot rice, a treat from Terence for our effort. After dinner, we went back to my PIL’s house. Adrian has been tasked a reception for the relatives and he called himself the “Specialist”. He did an “audit check” with my PIL on the relatives’ guests list as he wanted to match faces to names. As he went through the list, he discovered a few missing “usual wedding dinner relatives” and highlighted to my PIL. Then after some scrabbling, then it was confirmed that the relatives were invited for the wedding but missing from the guests list. So immediately, our Specialist went through the whole list and did all the sorting accordingly. One of the 2 reserve tables is now being utilized.

Luckily, the Specialist did his check, otherwise, if we discovered on the day itself, it will be quite embarrassing and also caused chaos to the arrangement.

It has been a tiring but very fruitful day for us and most important the agenda has been finalized and we are all set & ready for the day.

Finally..Playhouse Disney!!

Eversince we travelled on Qantas and the children had the chance to watch Playhouse Disney channel, Anthea had been asking why we can't watch it at home. So adrian and myself has been explaining to her of the Starhub kids group only include Disney Channel (ch33), Nickelodeon (ch32) and Cartoon networks (ch35). For Playhouse Disney (ch34) we need to pay extra.

On Saturday morning, to our sweetest surprised, when Anthea turned on ch 34, there it was - Playhouse Disney. I read from the screen that Starhub had included Playhouse Disney to the
Kids Basic Groups. So this mean from now onwards, Anthea and Anders had an additional channel to enjoy and like all Disney Princess stories - DREAMS DO COME TRUE.

As the weather had been very hot this week, i have been brewing barley water dilligently for the children to drink. Hopefully, this will helps to cool down their body heat and we also reduced our outdoors actitvities to minumum. My little niece had succumbed to the heat and was having fever for the last few days. Hopefully she will recover well this coming week and enjoy the weekend stay at the hotel... : )

Today, my eldest brother invited us to join him and my mom for lunch. We went to Raffles City and had lunch at Shokudo Japanese Food Bazaar. It had the same concept as Marche and it serves all kind of Japanese food - Sashimi, Teppanyaki, Udon/Soba, Japanese Pizza, Omu rices & soups. There were so many varieties and i told da-ge that must come back and try the others..hee : P

After lunch, we shopped around Robinson, Anthea and Anders had a good time at the toys section. Now there is a new donut outlet at the mall and i bought some to try - J.Co Donut & coffee.

We went home for the children afternoon nap before meeting the extended families for dinner at Jade Palace Seafood restaurant @ Forumn Galleria. Terence joined us for dinner and gave us an update on his wedding day itinerary. Looks like we are all set for a fun filled and Auspicious day.

Tomorrow is the rehearsal for the wedding night marched in. I took 1/2 day off to be there as Anthea will be there with my MIL.

May Day Fun

In the morning, Adrian decided to bring the children to the watch a movie – Ironman. So while they were at the movie, I did my own errands.

I decided to get my hair rebounded on May Day because it is a Public Holiday and also from previous experiences, I know that I need to “rest” my hair for 2 days before washing it. So this means I am still ok to do my weekends jogging routines. Also the wedding is just a week more to go, so doing my hair this week is just in time, chinese say: "有头有脸 见人"..haha : P

As my regular hair saloon is closed for the Public Holiday, I had to source for other saloon that are open. After doing some research, I found this saloon in Ang Mo Kio Central that is open and does rebonding + cut + treatment at a good price.

I was quite amazed at the number of hairstylists that they had – almost 15 of them. I must say they are very systematic and every walk in customers was entertained. The teamwork effort was so well displayed in this outlet. At one time, you can have 3 hairstylists blow drying your hair. This actually helps speed up the process. I noticed each time when a hairstylist is done with his client; he/she will be looking around to give the others a helping hand. From their tone, I believe most of them are Malaysian.

I had my hair rebounded and colored within 4 hours which was quite good. When I did rebonding at my regular saloon, it already took 3 hours plus.

I was happy with the end result and best part is the hairstylist did not push any of their products to me. She just recommended. I think I won’t mind going back again for my next hair treatment.

When I reached home, Adrian and the children were having their afternoon naps. I had a light tea break and did some ironing.

After that, Adrian went for his gym session while I had a quick rest. In the evening, we had dinner at the YES restaurant at AMK hub. This is our 1st time trying this restaurant food and I told Adrian that the food was good. Both Anthea and Anders love their house special – baked potatoes. After dinner, we had Macdonald’s ice cream and took a walk at the Pasar Malam that was along Ave 3.

This has been a relaxing Labour Day for me.
