日行一善

Time is passing so fast these days, it’s already mid week… : P

Last week, Anthea’s teacher gave her a letter and it was written by the principal. The school is organizing a charity drive for FFTH (Food from the Heart Food Drive 2009). In view of the upcoming Chinese New Year, the school is raising food for the needy families.

When Anthea came home with the letter, she was very excited and told me “mommy, we must go and buy some food for the poor people, they need it to celebrate Chinese New Year.”

I was very happy upon hearing her request. Ever since she started school, she is beginning to understand that there are children from the less well to do family. In her school, meals coupons are distributed to these children. She is also learning the rope of doing her bit for charity.

I have also been busy explaining what the donation is about and let her has a better understanding of the charity drives.

On Monday evening, Adrian went to the supermarket and bought some instant noodles and canned food, according to the letter.

On Tuesday morning, Anthea brought the food stuff to school and happily handled them over to the collection centre. She said the aunty at the collection point said “thank you” to her.

Both Anthea and Anders have been lucky as our living standard is consider average. On weekends, they will usually enjoy life with either my PIL’s or my family.

Now with community service as such organized by the school, I believe they will learn more about the society and how charity helps the needy ones. This will instill compassion in them and encourage them to share passionately with those who need their help.

行善不能等,希望孩子们能够培养颗善良的心, 孝敬长辈,日行一善...
