On Monday when I open the plastic bag which hold our tingkat dinner, there was a notice in it and the 1st line caught my 100% ATTENTION!
"DISCONTINUED OF OUR NORMAL DINNER SERVICE”, I read on and realized that Buffet Paradize decided to go PREMIUM, like those PREMIUM BUSES which provide express service from HDB to CBD areas. Well, the word PREMIUM is always link to HIGHER PRICES.
Currently for the normal dinner delivery, we paid $200 for 20 meals. We had 3 dishes and a soup for 2 person servings. The PREMIUM Price for 20 meals for 2 persons will now be $400 for 3 Dishes & a Soup. According to the notice, it claimed that the company had received positive feedback and numerous requests for the PREMIUM DINNERS.
Honestly, I have no clues who these people might be but I know they must be RICH!! Cost of things is going UP and UP and yet these people can ask for PREMIUM DINNERS.
Needless to say, we have to change our Tingkat Dinner Company. Our current contract end mid July, so now I have to start doing research for any good recommendation.
Like what the Chinese says : 天下没有不散之宴席 ！！

Seems like most food industries are using excuses to increase prices. Hope you will find an alternative soon :)
my hubby often asks me, things goes up, shld come down one day right? (gravity pulls mah)
however, it might not be the case for food prices. when it goes up, it usually stay and will not drop down. sigh

I do not believe that people are providing feedback to the company to raise their price.
If the food is good and price is cheap then why would anyone write in and ask them to change the menu and increase the price?
Anyway I'm sure there are many more such companies around. Good Luck with your next one.

I would think that like yourself, many of their existing customers would likewise share similar sentiments over this frankly quite ridiculous price hike of 100%! When all these customers leave for other tingkat vendors, see if that won't teach them a lesson to make such drastic moves at the expense of their customers.

I think the company must have done a proper calculations before the adjustment.
My guess is their "CASHCOW" is the confinement caterings, so now there are trying to axe the "black sheeps" which is eating up all the grasses and worried not enuff grasses for the "COWS".. : P
Anyway, these "blacksheeps" will find a greener pasture.

Hmm... as I mentioned to you over sms, I may consider to try their premium dinner, BUT, I must say that I am not RICH, like what you wrote lor.
I figure that 一分钱一份货, their premium dinner promises only canola oil and no msg, etc, so I suppose it will be healthier.
S$400 per 20 meals work out to be S$20 per meal. I think it is still a reasonable cost for a decent and healthy dinner.
Having said all this, I still cannot confirm whether to switch or not as I still need to find out more details from BP.

Yeah,i understand your concerns. I was actually refer to those "people" who requested for the PREMIUM Dinner as Rich..becos like wat i said, prices are all going up, yet pple still can rqst for these Premium dinners..hee : P
Agreed that $20 is a reasonable cost for a decent and healthy dinner.
This really also depend on individual family financial standing... : P
