Happy Mother's Day weekends...

Special Home cooked Dinner , Friday, 11 May

Yesterday when i fetched Anthea and Anders from childcare, the teachers passed their Mother's Day presents to me.

Anthea's Artwork

It was very sweet and knowing that it is handmade (with teacher's help) by the children, i was really touched.

Anders's Artwork.

Been another busy week, both at home and at work. So far, domestically we are doing quite well. It's not easy and at times, can be very tiring. But at the end of the day, the satisfaction and self-fulfilment just write-off everything.

Anthea has been on her best behaviour since Siti left and i am really glad she is listening to our instructions most of the times.

Anders is still not as well behaved as Anthea. He has been crying and whining alot to get things his way. Adrian even caned him this week when he did not listened to my instruction and created a mess in the kitchen. For a 3 years old, it is not easy, especially Siti has been giving in to him alot when she was looking after him.

So to understand his emotional needs better, i went to library to borrow some books, hopefully, i will be enlightened after reading.
This weekends we celebrate Mother's Day. Last night, i had requested to eat western at Lao ma's place. As usual, it was a very sumptious dinner, menu included Roast Beef, fried chicken wings, vegetables, mashed potatoes and soup. Lao pa made great western meal and he cooked very delicious Hainanese Chicken rice.

After dinner, we da-bao some food back home for adrian as he went for his usual badminton session at Bishan Sport complex.

Household chores routine , Saturday, 12 May

In the morning, i went market to get some ingredient to prepare for lunch. For today lunch, i managed to cook a nice soup - Black chicken with Black bean soup recommend by wokking mum. I steamed a fish (ngoh yu) and had spinach. Also, there was roast beef from yesterday dinner. Another simple and enjoyable home cooked meal.

As usual, i went around with my weekend chores - sweep and mop the house, washes the 2 bathrooms, do the laundry and prepared children lunch. Now time is fully utilised and sometime, i even asked myself "Time not enough"...hee : P

For tonight dinner, we are meeting our extended family to dine at Sze Chuan Court at Swissotel the Stamford. Looking forward to another nice chilling out session with the family.

Anders is DOWN...

It's Anders turn...SIGH...

Well, he got the stomach flu. On Wednesday night, he was running mild fever. Siti fed him the paracetemol around 4am. Anders room-in with with Siti. So i am quite lucky, otherwise, it will be another sleepless night for me. Comes May 2007, this priviledge will be gone once Siti 'balek kampong'.

He had diarrhea for the whole day, so in the evening after work, i brought him to the clinic for doctor's consultation. For these 2 days he is being kept at home to rest and Siti said that he is very happy. Siti is very attentive to Anders and really doted him like her own son. I know comes April 2007, it will be a very very sad departure, after 3 years with Aces Family.

Anyway, i know it is time for me to learn to be independent. I see a lot working mothers handling well without maid, so i do hope when times come, i can make it or rather "JUST DO IT" !!

Looking forward to another enjoyable weekends ahead !!

Sleepless Nights...

Anthea was having Fever for the last 2 days.

On Monday, i brought her to the doctor and she was given MC for a day. She rested at home. Lao ma came over and helped me to look after her, so that Siti can fetch Anders from the school, in the evening. During the day, after taking medication, her temperature was normal.

At night, her fever went up to around 38 degree celsius. So, need to keep sponging her to keep the temperature down. Throughout the nights, the sponging kept going on. With in between small naps for me.

On Tuesday, i was quite exhausted. During lunch, i went for a quick swim at the Toa Payoh Swimming complex which is near my working place. The swim helped me to regain some of my energy. I know when i feel tired due to stressed, exercise always help.

Now, Anthea fever's has gone and she is back to her usual self again. Felt that the 2 sleepless nights were worth it.

Motherhood is a Package Deal - you name it - Worries, Stress, Happy, Anger, Love etcs, it is all in it.

Just heard the GOOD NEWS from Uncle Terence from London : Cherry has ACCEPTED his wedding proposal. The proposal took place on Tower Bridge -

Terence email : "Why Tower bridge? A bridge to signify the link between the 2 of us, just like the Tower bridge has connected the 2 embankments so strongly for so many years. "

So ROMANTIC....

BIGGEST CONGRATS to Terence and Cherry...Another Major Mile stone in the Tan Family.
